Generation mechanism of a new type of unburnt gas pocket and its influences on the detonation-wave/boundary-layer interaction

This work studies numerically the generation mechanism of a new type unburnt gas pocket and its effects on characteristics detonation-wave/boundary-layer interaction in supersonic flows. Results show that this is generated due to local re-ignition preheated behind separated oblique shocks, unlike traditional pockets longitudinal instability detonation front. The chemical energy released by area found be blocked shear layer unfavorable for self-sustaining propagation wave.
